Only the Self exists
Parable
A devotee made an image of Lord Ganesha out of jaggery, installed it and worshipped it. At the end, he pinched out a small amount of jaggery from the same image and offered it as naivedya (offering).
Meditation
In the same way when we say that we offer our body, soul and possessions to the Lord, does any of these belong to us in the first place? Instead it would be more truthful to say “O Lord, I had falsely imagined that what indeed was yours was mine. Now I realize that everything is yours alone. Nothing is mine.” This knowledge that there is nothing but God or Self, that “I” and “mine” do not exist, that only Self exists, is jnana (knowledge).
